SECONDARY COORDINATOR

Welcome back to a new and exciting school year, to all of our families and students. This year will bring new challenges for the secondary students, which I am sure they will handle with ease and grace.

The students have hit the ground running already, and are eager to learn.

In the Farming & Gardening class, students will be learning about our ‘Paddock to Plate’ program, and will grow their own vegetables all year-round. This means that we will have some wonderful fresh foods available for the students, and they will be learning about where their food comes from.

We also have a number of excursions available to the students this year which will enhance their learning and will be a wonderful addition to the curriculum. This does mean however that occasionally we will need to ask you, the parents, to deliver your children to school earlier than usual if we need to make a trip to Melbourne.

The school uniform is very important. Please ensure that your child attends in full uniform each day, and PE uniform on Tuesday’s (secondary) only. Students should take pride in their appearance – this means having their clothes freshly laundered, and their hair should be neat and tidy. This is an important habit to get into, because it will help to shape your future also. It is also important that students have a healthy breakfast and come to school with the right attitude to learn.

Although we insist that students take their studies seriously, it is just as important for them to relax and enjoy themselves also. Recess and lunchtimes are a great time for students to do this, and we encourage them to have fun with their friends at these times. This way, they can come back in to the classroom after a short break, ready to learn.

Enjoy the term everybody. Relax, have fun, but also focus on your studies.

Kind regards,

Mrs. Sara Cartwright
